June 8, 2013
In June, the anniversary mass gave staff, clients and supporters an opportunity for reflection amid the hustle and bustle of 'Change a Life' month. The mass is held every year to celebrate the life of the Centre's founder, George Basil Hume, and continues to be a reminder that his legacy lives on in the work that the Centre does.
Led by Bishop William Kenney, the mass encouraged the congregation to consider the way in which they 'welcome the stranger' and listen to the voice of the most vulnerable in society.
It is always uplifting to see the chapel full of people who support the work the Centre does to prevent poverty, homelessness and exclusion. After the service, everyone gathered in the Family Centre, to continue the celebrations with wine, nibbles and the 'Change a Life' raffle. An astonishing £1,300 was raised during the event - many thanks to all those who joined us. Please help to support the Cardinal Hume Centre's work by making a donation today.
